Ever feel like your life is overflowing... but mostly with stress, overbooked schedules, and a constantly running mental to-do list?
I’ve been reflecting on Psalm 23:5—“My cup overflows”—and realized how easy it is to fall into a shortage mindset. That’s the constant, anxious feeling that there’s never enough time, money, or energy to go around. Driven by FOMO or the pressure to keep up with others, I often over-commit and wind up overextended instead of overflowing.
Here are 3 simple shifts I’m working on to move from overwhelmed to overflowing:
Trade Scarcity for Abundance: A shortage mindset focuses on limited personal resources. A surplus mindset focuses on God’s limitless provision. When I trust that He provides what I actually need, the underlying anxiety starts to melt away.
Stop the Comparison Game: Most over-committing comes from fear—fear of missing out or seeking approval. I’m not missing out on anything real when I choose to rest in what’s already provided for me.
Do a Calendar & Budget Audit: Looking at my upcoming week. Identifying one commitment or expense that’s driven by comparison, pressure, or fear, and intentionally let it go.
Living an "overflowing" life isn't about doing more; it's about trusting more.
What’s one boundary or commitment you need to release this week to reclaim your peace? Drop it in the comments below and let’s discuss!
