You are more valuable than you realize, but you are likely less effective than you could be.
A coin at the bottom of a couch cushion doesn't lose its value—it loses its utility.
In leadership, we often confuse "positional power" with "identity-based impact."
I see so many high-performers grinding away, relying solely on their own ingenuity to hit the next milestone. They have the title. They have the "value."
But they are disconnected from their Source.
When you lead from your own strength, you are like that lost coin. You are still worth everything to the Creator, but you’ve lost your potential to do good in the world.
The Shift: From Striving to Surrender
True potential isn’t unlocked by working harder. It’s unlocked by moving from the isolation of the "lost coin" to the active utility of a tool in the Master’s hand.
As 1 Corinthians 2:9 reminds us, what is prepared for you is actually unimaginable to the human mind.
But you can’t access "unimaginable" plans with "predictable" self-reliance.
The "Surrender Audit"
If you want to step into your fullest potential this week, stop trying to manufacture it. Instead, try this:
Identify the Gap: Where are you relying 100% on your own grit?
The Disciplined Pause: Take 5 minutes tomorrow morning—before the emails start—and consciously hand that specific project or worry back to God.
Lead from Identity: Remind yourself that your worth is inherent, but your impact is dependent on your proximity to the Source.
Your impact is a byproduct of your connection. Stay connected.
What is one area of your life where you feel like a "lost coin" right now?
