Most people think leadership is about the title on your business card

Most people think leadership is about the title on your business card.

In reality, the most powerful leadership starts where no one else can see: Your heart.

I’ve been diving deep into the "masterclass of inward transformation" found in Matthew 5, and it’s completely flipping the script on my 2026 leadership goals.

We often chase the "Pharisee Model" of leadership—perfect outward compliance, impressive metrics, and public prestige. But true influence isn't about the "religious" checklist you show the world; it’s about identity-based leadership.

Here is the shift I’m making to lead from the inside out:

  • From "Status" to "Salt": I’m not here to blend in or just occupy a seat. I’m focused on being a "visible, influential presence" that brings out the best in others.

  • From "Spin" to "Simplicity": Real leadership doesn't need flashy promises. It’s built on being a person of your word—where a simple "Yes" is enough to build implicit trust.

  • From "Self-Control" to "Thought Control": It’s easy to stay quiet when you're angry. It’s much harder (and more vital) to resolve the bitterness before it ever reaches your lips.

The 2026 Standard

If we follow the world’s selfish standards, we lose our flavor. We become "worthless" as leaders because we’ve traded our unique light for a shadow of someone else’s success.

I’m striving for a "higher righteousness" this year—one that chooses reconciliation over retaliation and maturity over mediocrity.

The goal isn’t to be the loudest person in the room. It’s to be the light that helps everyone else see better.

Which of these shifts resonates most with your current growth?

What is your one-word definition of "influence"?
